Welcome to Hell, part 1

11/21/2016

Today marks the beginning of Forged in Fire two week book tour! Spotlights, interviews, fun posts, a giveaway, and much more - you don't want to miss a single stop. (In the end of this post I'll list all the stops.)
And since I'm inviting you to descend to the Underworld (where the story is set), I thought it would only be fair to give you a tour first.
We'll start small - you really don't want to be running around with no clue as to where you are. It might prove hazardous to your health. And since I don't want anything bad to happen - I'm afraid insurance might not cover being eaten by hellhounds - I'm giving you a guide, and a protector.
Meet Ciaran.

Someone chose to come here? Voluntarily? Well, at least I'm not the only one crazy here. Just don't try to swim in the Faron River - I might not be able to save you if you did.
It's liquid fire. I had that pleasure once before, and I'm not eager to repeat it.
Now, I see the map of my current "home". Fun place, what can I say. You can come to watch a fight, make a bet, select a lover - it's an entertainment center. If you are a demon that is. You are not? Well...uhm... keep your head down, don't make eye contact; but if someone tries to mess with you - punch them. Swords and daggers work too. Or a good kick.
That reminds me - I hope you packed a few warm clothes. The Underworld might me hot, but the Floating Island is not. You can actually freeze your toes there.
Like I said, a fun place.

So, did we convince you to pick the Underworld as your holiday destination? Not yet?
Then don't forget to tune in next time, as I'm sure the luxury hotels, hot saunas, and an amazing view will enslave you.

It’s launch day! Yay! And I’m beyond excited!

Forged in Fire (Witch World Series, Book 2) is officially for sale on Amazon! If you pre-ordered the book, it should be on its way to your Kindle. And if you haven’t, now is a great time to purchase it for a special price. Only $0.99! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MEFIZ0A

I hope you all will love the story! I had so much fun writing it.

Here's a snippet from Forged in Fire:
“Bow before your master!” One of the guards spat an order.
“I bow before no one,” Ciaran muttered without turning. That was one thing he refused to do. Ever. No matter how many whips sliced his flesh.
Instantly, he felt a fierce blow to his inner knee. His leg bent, and he went down. Ciaran gritted his teeth at the impact with the hard floor, and before the guard could deliver another blow, grabbed for the nearest weapon.
Suddenly fire flashed through the space. As one, the guards sank to the ground, bowing their heads.
“Enough!” Huge eyes appeared in the air, above them.
Ciaran frowned. Stood up.
The eyes narrowed. Green flames consumed the irises, and for a second he thought the room would catch fire.
“Out!” A sharp order rang out, and was followed before the echo subsided.
The moment Ciaran was left alone, shadows began swirling, the eyes got smaller, until a figure stepped out of the darkness. He thought he was prepared for whatever was coming. A two-headed ogre wouldn’t have surprised him, but when the shadows dissipated, and his eyes locked with those of the creature he’d been summoned by, he forgot whatever it was he wanted to say.
Her eyes were no longer round, but almond-shaped, slightly tilted downward toward her straight but narrow nose. Those eyes missed nothing—and right now, they were focused on him. Not burning, but the way her irises caught the glare of light, it appeared to glow with a cat-like luster.
In vibrant copper-red, the strands that escaped her knee-length braid danced like flames against her flawless, porcelain skin, conjuring up an image of a fragile, ethereal beauty.
One look at her, and Ciaran knew there was nothing fragile about her. She radiated power, and he had no trouble seeing why the guards bowed before her. Why everyone was afraid to even mention her name. The raw energy flowing around her was nothing he’d ever experienced. No demon he’d met possessed a smidgeon of it.
He was screwed, he concluded, determined to get this over with as quickly as possible.
“What do you want from me?” he demanded, finally coming to his senses.
She approached, no hesitation in her lithe, tall body. It moved with hypnotizing grace, accentuated by her simple leather pants and top that hugged her like a second skin. If he thought she had power before, it was nothing compared with the sizzle of energy that shot through him when she stretched out her hand, and gently touched his cheek.
It took everything he had to keep his body stone-still. He dared not even breathe. He felt if he did, she could actually bring him to his knees. And as seconds ticked by, her lips curled into a lazy smile, transforming her face from beautiful to stunning. She was a vision—a vision he expected to morph into a nightmare at any moment.
That’s when she whispered, “I want to play.”

Finally! I spent so many months worrying about Ciaran and his fate, I couldn't be more excited to find out that he will get his HEA.
- Amira, the heroine of Till Death and Beyond (Witch World Series, book 1)

I heard this is the book where a certain someone will be brought to his knees. My condolences. Though on the other hand, a strong heroine is essential here, as I think Ciaran would get bored with anyone else.
- Raven, the hero of Till Death and Beyond (Witch World Series, book 1)

If it were up to me, this book would not be happening! It wasn't enough I ended up in Hell. Oh no! Now, I am being paired up with a heroine who is referred to as the Green-Eyed Monster. By everyone in the entire Underworld.
Who the hell thought this was a good idea?
- Ciaran, the hero of Forged in Fire (Witch World Series, book 2)

Meet My Character Blog Tour

7/21/2014

I’ve been tagged by Kyra Halland to participate in the Meet My Character Blog Tour, and I won’t lie, I was intrigued, flattered even, but at the same time I almost said no. Why? It’s simple. At the time I didn’t have where to post more than a few words, much less the seven answers this blog tour is known for.

And when I told Kyra about my predicament, she offered to host me. Which I was very grateful for. Still am. But I figured it was a perfect time to roll up my sleeves and build a site. (And with a friend’s help I managed to construct the skeleton of what will hopefully be a site one day. :) )

But I digress…

First of all, thanks for inviting me, Kyra. And for everything else.

You can stalk Kyra at: Goodreads | Website | Facebook

Kyra Halland has always loved fantasy, and has also always loved a good love story. She combines those two loves in her novels, dark-edged tales of fantasy, heroism, and romance. Kyra lives in southern Arizona. She has a very patient husband, two lesspatient cats, and two young adult sons. Besides writing, she enjoys scrapbooking and anime, and she wants to be a crazy cat lady when she grows up.

And now, I’ll get this party started by telling that while I considered introducing Amira, the heroine of my first paranormal romance Till Death and Beyond, I decided against it. Mainly because my mind is so occupied with the sequel, other characters are louder in my head.

I’m about 75k into my current WIP—Forged in Fire (working title). Which means I won’t be introducing the heroine yet. Only the hero.

1) What is the name of your character? Is he/she fictional or a historic person?

Ciaran. He is the cousin of the heroine of Till Death and Beyond, and a very much fictional character.

2) When is the story set?

The story is set in the fictional world, the Witch World. More specifically, the Underworld.

3) What should we know about him/her?

Orphaned at the age of eight, Ciaran is a little bit pigheaded, and overprotective of those he loves. And that’s how he finds himself in quite the quandary (by the end of Till Death and Beyond).

As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

4) What is the main conflict? What messes up his/her life?

Well, ending up in the Underworld, with no control over one’s fate could mess up a life pretty badly. Especially for someone who needed to control… everything. Ciaran has to come to terms with the new existence.

5) What is the personal goal of the character?

To survive. Mostly. Hell is not a sauna.

Of course, when his heroine comes into the picture, his goals shift a bit.

6) Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it?

As mentioned above, the working title is Forged in Fire, and since it’s the first time I divulged any information about my second book, so I’m afraid it’s impossible to read more about it. Yet.

7) When can we expect the book to be published?

There is no set date yet, but my goal is to publish it around January 2015.

And now it’s my turn to pass the torch!

Andrea R. Cooper writes fantasy, paranormal and historical romance. When not writing or reading, one may find Andrea dancing in Zumba.

Currently, she has two novels published with Crimson Romance. The Garnet Dagger - a fantasy/ paranormal romance, and Viking Fire. – historical romance with a touch of magic. She hopes you will enjoy the stories as much as she did writing them.

Jennifer Ellis is the author of A Pair of Docks, and In the Shadows of the Mosquito Constellation (2014), an action-adventure romance. She lives in a small ski town in Canada with her husband, cat and two boys. When she is not skiing, running, doing ballet (badly) or writing, she works as an environmental researcher and project manager in the fields of climate change, food security and energy.

Don’t forget to check them out.
