I’ve been tagged by Kyra Halland to participate in the Meet My Character Blog Tour, and I won’t lie, I was intrigued, flattered even, but at the same time I almost said no. Why? It’s simple. At the time I didn’t have where to post more than a few words, much less the seven answers this blog tour is known for.
And when I told Kyra about my predicament, she offered to host me. Which I was very grateful for. Still am. But I figured it was a perfect time to roll up my sleeves and build a site. (And with a friend’s help I managed to construct the skeleton of what will hopefully be a site one day. :) ) But I digress… First of all, thanks for inviting me, Kyra. And for everything else. You can stalk Kyra at: Goodreads | Website | Facebook Kyra Halland has always loved fantasy, and has also always loved a good love story. She combines those two loves in her novels, dark-edged tales of fantasy, heroism, and romance. Kyra lives in southern Arizona. She has a very patient husband, two lesspatient cats, and two young adult sons. Besides writing, she enjoys scrapbooking and anime, and she wants to be a crazy cat lady when she grows up. And now, I’ll get this party started by telling that while I considered introducing Amira, the heroine of my first paranormal romance Till Death and Beyond, I decided against it. Mainly because my mind is so occupied with the sequel, other characters are louder in my head. I’m about 75k into my current WIP—Forged in Fire (working title). Which means I won’t be introducing the heroine yet. Only the hero. 1) What is the name of your character? Is he/she fictional or a historic person? Ciaran. He is the cousin of the heroine of Till Death and Beyond, and a very much fictional character. 2) When is the story set? The story is set in the fictional world, the Witch World. More specifically, the Underworld. 3) What should we know about him/her? Orphaned at the age of eight, Ciaran is a little bit pigheaded, and overprotective of those he loves. And that’s how he finds himself in quite the quandary (by the end of Till Death and Beyond). As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. 4) What is the main conflict? What messes up his/her life? Well, ending up in the Underworld, with no control over one’s fate could mess up a life pretty badly. Especially for someone who needed to control… everything. Ciaran has to come to terms with the new existence. 5) What is the personal goal of the character? To survive. Mostly. Hell is not a sauna. Of course, when his heroine comes into the picture, his goals shift a bit. 6) Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it? As mentioned above, the working title is Forged in Fire, and since it’s the first time I divulged any information about my second book, so I’m afraid it’s impossible to read more about it. Yet. 7) When can we expect the book to be published? There is no set date yet, but my goal is to publish it around January 2015. And now it’s my turn to pass the torch! Andrea R. Cooper writes fantasy, paranormal and historical romance. When not writing or reading, one may find Andrea dancing in Zumba. Currently, she has two novels published with Crimson Romance. The Garnet Dagger - a fantasy/ paranormal romance, and Viking Fire. – historical romance with a touch of magic. She hopes you will enjoy the stories as much as she did writing them. Jennifer Ellis is the author of A Pair of Docks, and In the Shadows of the Mosquito Constellation (2014), an action-adventure romance. She lives in a small ski town in Canada with her husband, cat and two boys. When she is not skiing, running, doing ballet (badly) or writing, she works as an environmental researcher and project manager in the fields of climate change, food security and energy. Don’t forget to check them out.
